Pastor Ben Gibert
Bishop Benjamin A. Bishop Benjamin A. Gibert is Senior Pastor of Detroit World Outreach (DWO) Christian Center Church, the overseer of the Destiny Outreach Ministry Association (DOMA), and the founder of the Isaiah 61 Community Development Initiative. Before becoming senior pastor of DWO in 2005, Bishop Gibert served the Lord for decades as a deacon, elder, associate pastor, board member, and travelling teacher/ preacher. His appointment to senior pastor of DWO was in submission to the father to son succession plan put in place by the late Bishop Jack C. Wallace.
Bishop - Pastor Gibert is passionate about shepherding the flock of God, the church being salt and light in our generation as well as teaching biblical principles of destiny fulfillment. He has spent much of his life (more than 30 years in ministry) discovering key principles that allow believers to move along on the course of divine destiny. His corporate, family, and life experiences coupled with a drive to submit to the Holy Spirit as the principles of Christ are revealed - have made him a profound and practical teacher of the Word of God.
Bishop Ben is the 3rd generation of ordained ministers in his family. He honors his grandfather, the Reverend Charles Alford Wright, and his mother, Evangelist Cleora Gibert for their examples of leadership and commitment to Christ.
Under his leadership, the people of DWO have risen to new levels of discipleship, personal growth and realization of the manifested promises of God. With a current membership of over 5,500 and still growing steadily, DWO now has 3 campuses and experiences 100’s of decisions for Christ every month – which is true destiny fulfillment.
Bishop Ben also has a rich and varied background in business. He is one of a select few that have experience in Automotive Manufacturing, Marketing, and Product Development. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from General Motors Institute, an M.S. in Engineering, and an M.B.A. both from Stanford University. As an executive with over 25 years in the automotive industry, he held top positions with General Motors, Ford and Daimler Chrysler, before receiving the call to enter ministry full-time as the pastor of Detroit World Outreach.
Bishop Ben strives to use the synthesis of ministry and business to mentor, and develop ministries, gifts and destinies. Through DOMA, Bishop provides a mechanism for ministries to have access to formal knowledge exchanges, instruction, wisdom and advice while pursuing a path to ministerial excellence.
Bishop Ben and his wife, Dr. Charisse, his partner in all aspects of ministry, have been married for over twenty-two years, producing four wonderful children, and many spiritual sons and daughters.
They credit much of their success to the teaching and mentoring of their spiritual parents, the late Bishop Jack C. Wallace (founder of Detroit World Outreach), the late Peyton Harrison Sr., and Bishop I.V. & Lady Bridget Hilliard of New Light Church in Houston TX. They also acknowledge the guidance and grace of Pastor Tommy Barnett, founder of the LA Dream Center, and pastor of Phoenix First Assembly.
